Request for Cooperation toward the Fifth Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival Pre-Event: "Let's study! World Uchinanchu" program

Thank you very much for your continuous cooperation and support toward the international exchange and cooperation projects conducted by Okinawa Prefecture.

The Fifth Worldwide Uchinanchu Festival Executive Committee is currently implementing the “Learn About Uchinanchu Around the World!” program as a pre-event for the upcoming festival.

This program was brought out under the title of “One School One Country” program in the fourth festival which was spread across the prefecture involving one hundred schools with more than ten thousand students.

In the coming festival, “Learn About Uchinanchu Around the World!” program aims to encourage students of primary schools, junior high schools and high schools in Okinawa to increase their awareness of international understanding and the Uchina-network. Students will learn about other nation/ state’s culture, language, food and history through exchanges with the Uchinanchus living overseas.

We hope that all past participants of the programs such as Prefectural-Funded International Student Program, Junior Study Tour and Host Family Bank will be actively engaged with “Learn About Uchinanchu Around the World!” since “Passing on “the Uchina Network” and “the Uchina Identity” to the next generation” is especially established as one of the fundamental principles of the Fifth Festival. (Specific details in regards to our cooperation request are stated at the end of this letter.)

We would appreciate your kind understanding and cooperation from as many overseas Uchinanchus as possible.
